Email marketing is a great way to advertise your product/service to potential customers, it’s quick, cost effective and permission based. This means that your marketing list is made up of people who have actively chosen to receive marketing emails and special offers via their email. This method of marketing however, can go very wrong if not done correctly. So, here’s a quick tip on how to avoid that!

Email Sequence's

Creating an email sequence is a simpler but effective way to plan how you are going filter and send you emails to the right audience. The first thing you need to do is get the consumer to sign up for your marketing emails/promotions. This is possible by offering a 10% discount on there first order and I mean, who doesn’t love a discount?

Here’s some examples:

For instance, say they sign up the receive these emails they will have a tag added to their name, for example ‘10% Discount’. Once done they should receive the email almost immediately once signing up. You should then wait for 2 days to see if they opened the email or not.

If yes, you can add another tag the the customer’s name so that you can send them a follow up email.

If no, you can resend the email and then check the condition again. Wait about 2 days, and if they do not acknowledge it, you can move them to the win-back campaign.

Do take into consideration that if you send the consumer too many emails they will soon get frustrated and start to look at your marketing emails as spam. Try and send just enough marketing emails to keep them interested. Make them want your service and products. So, no constant nagging them to buy something or it will make your company look desperate.

Even though email marketing is a fantastic way to advertise your products/company, it shouldn’t be your only source of marketing. It will indefinitely limit you to the same audience.
